Shimano baby baitrunner DL 2500FA

Post by Guest on Sun Aug 26, 2012 11:47 am

bought a pair of these for my winter roach/perch fishing

paid £121.50 delivered off ebay

loaded up with 8lb Nanofil (that will be the subject of a later post/review) and 10lb Powerpro

only had two trips but first impressions are very good - lovely front clutch and very smooth baitrunner

these reels have replaced a pair of Shimano Stradic 4000FG's (still kept them for other uses) - a baitrunner is needed because of pesky carp! - using fine hooklinks i find it impossible to use a 'loose clutch' approach and to then 'tighten up'

the Nanofil review will be interesting as i'm getting conflicting 'results' (used it since it first came out) - i'd certainly not say its a 'carp' ilne - but will go into detail later
